When we meet with temporary pain while learning something or doing something new, we generally tend to either quit or pause, most people quit, but some people pause for a while and start again.
Pausing temporarily for a while isn’t bad as Quitting, but it isn’t a good option as well, things tend to get difficult exactly before reaching destination. And, if we pause, then we might lose some more time and process of reaching our destination can be delayed little more.
Don’t Pause for temporary Pain
Baby steps are better than Stopping – Bhuvan Bham (BBKiVines)
You know, when you are trying to heat an Ice cube or block, nothing happens until 31 degrees, but the
moment you increase just one degree, it starts melting. It will be painful until the temperature reaches 32 degrees, but if you pause your efforts at 30 or 31 degrees then in the meantime, the temperature may further go down some degrees and when you come back it again requires more time than it initially required when you have QUIT.
If you are going through HELL, keep Going. – Winston Churchill.
So, if we keep on pausing after little trials, then there is a chance that we might never be able to reach our destination as in the above ICE cube example, if our task is to melt ice and we tend to take a break or pause at 30 or 31 degrees as we got fed up with task what happens the weather is our enemy in this task, it tries to cool it down, and the temperature goes even more down during the duration when you have taken pause, then you try again, if you persist till 32 degrees fine, but if you again quit any time before it then it will be endless.
Because pausing or getting fed up are also habits similar to Quitting, in this case Quitting this task and moving on to another is better compared to pause, try, pause, try.
Don’t pause your plan
Don’t your preparation
Don’t pause your existing Good habits
We tend to stop executing or following our existing positive habits which we have inculcated with a lot of hard work due to a small temporary pain.
Sardar Vallabhai Patel
When Mr. Patel was arguing a case in favor of his client in the court, he was handed a small piece of chit to convey some important message, he read the paper slip, tore it into pieces and continued the argument. He has won the case in favor of his client, then he broke out that the paper slip carried the news of his Wife’s sudden death.
Such is the character of great personalities, they won’t postpone their activities or duties even when the pain is extreme. This quality has given him the power to later unite India as one single country which comprised of more than 560 princely states before Independence.
Magic of Being consistent
Irrespective of what happens, if you keep on doing something you’ll get better at it. The whole game is all about being consistent and disciplined, Hard work can beat Talent if Talent doesn’t work hard. Here Hard work is all about consistency, discipline, persistence, etc.
Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. – Calvin Coolidge
