Albert Einstein is considered as the one of the most intellectual people because he has used his brain capacity to a great extent than anybody else who has ever lived. Apart from his intellect through which he has astonished the world, his insights or quotes about life, man, human intellect, imagination etc. are really inspiring and thought provoking.
This post is a compilation of some of the best quotes among Albert Einstein’s quotes, why I have picked only some because they are very much relevant to this blog’s niche (learning, life, inspiration).
Quotes of Albert Einstein
I want to share the quote along with my understanding of what he exactly means through that quote (it is just my own insight which I am mentioning to portray my viewpoint to you, if you don’t like it then no issues because not all our insights may match) 😉
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
I was walking through a local railway station today and the sunset fascinated me really, the trees and especially a bird which was flapping its wings to fly, I watched all these before but by looking deeply into them, I understood there is really something great about the world around us including my camera (though man made) which helped me to capture those sceneries to show them to you. Images of them are below –
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
I guess this is one of the best definition ever given on insanity of a person who wants to achieve something. At times, we try to achieve great results, but by still sticking to the same old ordinary methods isn’t it foolish, yes but why would we do that because we are always in a hurry to achieve our goals and become successful. And, we are least bothered whether the methods which we are using are good enough or not.
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.
Do you write Journal or daily dairy about what you have learnt today? If not, then let today be a starting day for such exercise, we learn a lot everyday about ourselves and wordl which we can use for improving both ourself and the world around us. But, because we haven’t taken that one step to record them through your Journal, you are forgetting that lesson.
Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.
I like this very much after I have heard it from John Lee Dumas, this quote has a fantastic lesson in it which says an entrepreneur who wants to succeed should focus not on making profits or success but on value providing then success is inevitable.
Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.
Wow, such an awesome message, really in life doing nothing is a very curse because it is said empty mind devil’s workshop we should never stop moving even if things aren’t going as planned.
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
What a wonderful quote, Isn’t it? We never try to upgrade our skills or sharpen our intellect to solve our problems and instead focus on solving the problem alone, but if we sharpen our skills then the problems get solved automatically.
Learning something in our field every day leaves us with great command over all the problems that have been solved in the past and which might pop up in future. As you know there is always a huge demand for problem solvers in any area, if you can raise your bar to solve your problems then your price would be great.
To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science.
Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them.
We generally tend to not focus on what limits us and what are our limits exactly, but by knowing what limits us exactly we tend to focus on solutions to get over them as Robin Sharma says in his book Leader who had No title – accepting our limits and negative qualities would make them loose 50% control on us.
Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.
The device through which I am writing this article, the one through which you are reading and many things around you were on this earth and no one have ever dreamed of them because they never believed this could be possible that is through invisible air data comes to an electronic device through which you can read what a person writes from one location on this earth which can be read by people sitting on the opposite side of the globe can read.
Logic can help you understand or solve what was once proved, but imagination would take you miles ahead though no one has laid a path, every technological innovation was an imagination, but nothing was logical at that time it was first proposed. So, never forget the beauty and greatness of imagination compared to Logic.
The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.
The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.
As mentioned above, Knowledge is limited by the past or historic inventions while imagination is eternal and it acknowledges no limits or boundaries.
Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character.
Your altitude is defined by your attitude, make it strong, powerful, great and that puts light on your character as well and as per the next coming quote of Einstein, you will understand how important character to make any person who has become great.
Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.
I read this in the book You can Win by Shiv Khera – Peace is like a butterfly which you cannot catch until you are running after it, but if you stop running after it and sit in a calm posture then it will come and sit on your shoulders.
The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.
When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That’s relativity.
Success and failure occupy equal part in our life but because of relativity success seems small and failure seems long.
I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.
Reading, after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking.
Reading in great amounts is good but not implementing them is very ineffective and useless as you have just passed time reading those books 🙂
The only source of knowledge is experience.
You can learn from both your experience and experience of others then you would be more knowledgeable.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.
Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.
Never be afraid of making mistakes, the people whom the world is admiring now have been first laughed at (including Einstein), but now everyone is remembering their name to solve their problems.
Anyone who doesn’t take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either.
Swami Vivekananda, tells the same thing even i.e. to never judge a person based on his greatest endeavors because everyone would perform well in them, but a really capable person does both great and small things with equal focus and importance.
Most people say that it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is the character.
There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.
It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.
