Your biggest asset is YOU

Your biggest asset is YOU

Hi Learner,

Most of the people claim that they don’t have any assets to build their empire, but your biggest
asset is YOU using which you can achieve anything as Napoleon Hill says that – More amount of Gold was dug from a human being’s mind than from the earth.

Have you ever considered yourself as an asset? If No, then it is time to consider yourself one and take steps to make this asset (YOU) more valuable.

Your biggest asset

The biggest asset which you have is YOU, yes it is you, how? read more to know that you are your biggest asset and how to take a proper care of it.

What is an asset?Your Biggest asset and greatest asset is You

Rich Dad has defined it perfectly – Everything that puts money into your pocket is an asset
(for complete blog post – Assets vs Liabilities) So, who is putting money in your pocket, I can’t say about children or students who are reading this, but for grown ups and kids who are future citizens – ourselves, we are putting money into our pocket it is not our home, not our business or anything else.

A business deal

If I offer you 1000,000,000 $ (billion dollars) for something which you have then would you say No to my deal? Nope, you would happily accept the deal (not only you but if anyone offers that much money then I would never say NO to them).

But, if I request your leg or hand in return or any of your sense organs say eyes, ears then would you take the deal still? the answer would be No I believe. What I really want to show you by this business deal is that we have some valuables things with us which we would never trade even for a billion dollars.

Invest in yourself, you would reap great rewards.

So, what next?

The first question I am asking is are we taking proper care of this valuable asset? If yes, then great, but if your answer is No then I want you to know some great mistakes you are making which might penalize your financially, personally, physically and most important mentally.

The most important aspects of our asset which we have to focus on

  1. Health – Physical and Mental
  2. Finances
  3. Relationships
  4. Growth – Learning, Spirituality

Health

Good health is a crown only the sick can see – Anonymous

I used to neglect my sleep, food, water for the sake of completing my work, but once my health started to deteriorate I began to understand what really is important. The most painful thing in the world is not able to enjoy small things because of health disorders.

Never neglect health both physical and mental, physical health is strengthened by proper food habits, regular exercise, balanced sleep and a good amount of laughter and fun (because life is a celebration) 😉 .

Coming to mental health, read great books by great people, this will instill great ideas and your problems look very insignificant when compared to their problems (ex: Wilma Rudolph’s story – will write a complete post on her story till then read it in Wiki ).

When you tend to neglect your health, remember these lines from Dalai Lama –

“Man surprised me most about humanity. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

Finances

You should never neglect your finances, always plan well for your present and future, your past and other people’s financial mistakes are your best teachers to learn about finances. Create strategies to invest properly for the short term, medium term, long term so that you make the life both your family and yours safe.

Proper finance management gives you a great control over life and your health as well, always remember what Albert Einstein used to tell – The intellect which got you here will never take you to the next level so keep learning new things to upgrade your income i.e. learn more to earn more.

Relationships

Your relationships with your family members, friends (chosen) are very crucial, never sacrifice or put those relations at risk for your growth because Robin Sharma says in his book – Saint, Surfer and CEO that a ball called our career is made of a rubber which can bounce back even if it falls down while a ball called relationships is made of glass which can’t bounce back if it falls and more over it breaks.

So, your career is important, but your family is even more important for whose happiness you are trying for a great career. Just a wish or friendly conversation with everyone each day and an outing leaving gadgets the weekend makes them feel that you are with them.

Growth – Learning, spirituality

If you are not moving forward then you are not still indeed you are moving backward says a wise man, it is very true because the only creature on this earth which can learn from its mistakes or from others mistakes and can refrain from making the same mistakes is Human being.

We have the unique ability to learn something and developing a habit of learning new is like sharpening your ax which allows you to cut more trees than you once dreamed of more easily.

Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe. – Abraham Lincoln

Get spiritual, do some research about your religious faith and get into reading your religious books as well, they somehow have answers for every problem which we can every face in life. Trust me, I have experienced this myself.

So, I have just covered some basic areas through which you can convert your biggest asset into your greatest asset and why you have to take care of your biggest asset is if you don’t take care of it then it becomes a liability and it starts taking money from your pocket instead of putting.
